Timeline S9 – SPOILER ALERT

For sure the most interesting season from a time jump point of view this ninth of The Walking Dead.
About a year and a half after the end of the previous season, the group is now divided among the various friendly locations; Carol is with Ezekiel at the Kingdom, Maggie commands Hilltop while Rick and Michonne stayed in Alexandria. It is a peaceful and prosperous period, where communities live on agriculture, livestock and trade.
In the first part of the season we will also see another huge and very important time jump of about six years that will take us into 2019.
It is also the season in which we will say goodbye (temporary?) to the main protagonist of the series, Rick Grimes.
The various groups will also have to confront a new and fearsome antagonist, the army of the Whisperers led by the merciless Alpha, which will bring death and destruction to the communities.
We will also see CRM appear for the first time.

October 17th, 2013
After secretly plotting against Maggie’s life in an attempt to eliminate her, Gregory is discovered, found guilty of high treason, officially sentenced to death, and executed by hanging on Maggie’s orders.
November 16th, 2013
Inside the old abandoned landfill settlement, Jadis, reverting to calling herself Anne, takes Father Gabriel hostage with the drastic intention of handing him over as a valuable bargaining chip to the CRM, a mysterious military organization.
November 22nd, 2013
While attempting to repel a massive herd of walkers threatening the united communities, Rick suffers a serious accident when he falls from his horse and is impaled in the side by an iron rod. He decides to shoot dynamite, blowing himself up along with the bridge connecting the territories. Rick miraculously survives the blast and is found by Jadis on the riverbank. While everyone believes him dead, the two are loaded aboard a military helicopter that takes them both away.
July 23rd, 2014 (happens off stage)
Several months after Rick’s disappearance, Michonne gives birth to Rick’s son, deciding to name him R.J. (Rick Junior).
November 21st, 2019
Six years have passed. Little Judith, now eight years old and proudly wearing her father’s sheriff’s hat, bravely enters the woods to save a new group of survivors, led by Magna, who is being attacked by a group of walkers. She then decides to lead them to Alexandria.
November 24th, 2019
During a fight inside a cemetery, Jesus is surprised and brutally stabbed to death by a member of the Whisperers, men who wear masks made from the skin of walkers to blend in with the dead.
December 1st, 2019
The Whisperer leader, Alpha, performs a brutal show of force to officially demarcate the territorial boundaries between her faction and the survivors. She carries out a silent massacre, capturing and impaling the severed heads of several members of the united communities, including Enid, Tara, and Henry, on a hill.
March 2nd, 2020
After having faced and barely overcome the extreme harshness of an unusually cold winter that compromised the heating of the town, the Kingdom was definitively abandoned, pushing all its residents to move en masse to Alexandria.
