Timeline S10 – SPOILER ALERT

Ten years have gone since the beginning of the zombie apocalypse and with the tenth season of The Walking Dead the series tries to build a sort of closing circle of what it has told so far.
Humanity with its frailties always remains at the center of the story, which is consolidated around a target focused on the weaknesses and fleetingness of the human being, which have always remained at the basis of the tale of this post-apocalyptic world.
Also this is an interesting season from the point of view of time jumps, it resumes about five months after the end of the previous one, and then offers us brief flashbacks of the years that have passed since Rick’s disappearance, up to exploring Negan’s redemption with one of the most beautiful episodes of the whole saga, totally centered on him. (Beware of the 12-year error made by the production in this episode).
Below is a timeline with the most important events of the Tenth Season of TWD.

December 23rd, 2015
Exactly two years after Rick disappeared on the bridge, Daryl continues to live isolated in the woods, obsessed with finding his friend’s body or any trace of him. During one of his solitary explorations in the forest, he stumbles upon a lonely puppy, whom he decides to name simply Dog. Meanwhile, Maggie also decides to leave Hilltop permanently to escape the painful memories of the past, moving with little Hershel to a new and distant community led by Georgie, an occasional visitor to Hilltop.
December 22nd, 2016
A year after their first meeting, Daryl re-encounters Dog, who has since grown into an adult in the forest. Following the animal to a secluded cabin in the trees, Daryl meets his wary owner, Leah, meeting her for the first time amidst an initial atmosphere of intense tension.
June 22nd, 2017
Months pass, and the silent bond between the two isolated survivors slowly begins to strengthen. Daryl decides to venture back into the thick vegetation to visit Leah and Dog directly in their cabin in the woods, overcoming initial hostility and demonstrating his intention to establish peaceful contact.
February 20th, 2018
During one of his usual patrols, Daryl is caught by surprise and finds himself in trouble, but Leah providesntially intervenes and saves him from a dangerous walker attack.
May 22nd, 2018
The mutual trust between the two loners reaches a profound and emotional turning point. Sitting inside the cabin, Leah opens up completely and tells Daryl her entire painful past for the first time; this moment of vulnerability definitively closes the distance between them, marking the beginning of a love story.
August 11th, 2018
In their emotional isolation, far from the rest of the civilized community, nature offers an extraordinary spectacle. Leah and Daryl stop in the forest and together witness a mesmerizing total solar eclipse, sharing a rare moment of absolute peace and serenity in a devastated world.
March 24th, 2019
The couple’s peaceful coexistence comes to an abrupt and unexpected end. Due to Daryl’s constant absences, still tormented by his search for Rick, Leah makes the drastic decision to abandon him forever, leaving the cabin empty and forcing Daryl to confront yet another loss in his life.

Events of the tenth season

August 10th, 2020
Alpha launches a psychological espionage plan to destroy the communities from within. The cold and manipulative Dante manages to bypass security and infiltrate the Alexandria community, posing as a doctor and a helpless survivor seeking shelter.
November 26th, 2020
While scouting alone on the shore, little Judith finds a human skin mask of the Whisperers abandoned on the beach, confirming that the enemy is spying on their moves.
December 3rd, 2020
Carol decides to operate in the shadows to end the Cold War once and for all, bypassing the Alexandria council’s decisions. She makes a secret deal with Negan inside his cell, guaranteeing him freedom and rehabilitation in the community in exchange for Alpha’s severed head.
December 6th, 2020

During an expedition to Oceanside to recover weapons, Michonne encounters a mysterious man, Virgil, and decides to follow him to his isolated base on Bloodsworth Island. She accepts the deal, hoping he knows something concrete about Rick’s whereabouts after finding some of his personal belongings in Virgil’s possession.
December 10th, 2020
Using a special flammable tree sap and firing incendiary arrows, Alpha and her massive herd burn and destroy the entire Hilltop settlement, forcing its inhabitants to retreat into the woods.
December 11th, 2020
After luring her into a trap by pretending to have captured her daughter Lydia, Negan slits Alpha’s throat and delivers her decapitated head to Carol, ending the ruthless leader’s reign.
December 12th, 2020
During their long and tiring journey towards the meeting point established by radio with an unknown community, Eugene, Yumiko and Ezekiel cross the deserted streets of a large city. Along the way they meet the eccentric “Princess”, who joins their expedition.
December 16th, 2020
Maggie suddenly reappears with a new group of armed warriors, immediately joins Daryl and decides to return to Alexandria to help with the reconstruction.
December 17th, 2020
The war against the Whisperers reaches its final and definitive resolution: thanks to an acoustic trap, the gigantic enemy herd is diverted, and the new leader Beta is surrounded and devoured by the horde. Meanwhile, Eugene’s group finally reaches the train yard for their meeting with Stephanie, but is abruptly surrounded and captured by the Commonwealth’s armored militia.
January 5th, 2021
Despite the council’s opposition and temporary exile to a cabin in the woods, Negan makes a defiant decision. He makes his permanent return to Alexandria, standing tall and openly defying a visibly furious Maggie’s thirst for vengeance.
