Timeline S8 – SPOILER ALERT

In the eighth season of The Walking Dead we witness the long-awaited showdown with the Saviors, on which the sad end of Carl will have a fundamental role.
After bloody clashes, infinite ruthlessness and gore to the ninth degree, the long conflict with Negan and his army will be decided and defined through an unexpected act of pity and mercy by Rick, aroused in him by the last will of his son.
It is also famous for being the season that covers the shortest time frame of the entire The Walking Dead epic, just one week.
Below is a summary of the pivotal events in the timeline of TWD’s Eighth Season.

April 15th, 2012
The allied army, composed of forces from Alexandria, Hilltop, and The Kingdom, joins forces and launches a coordinated military offensive to simultaneously attack several strategic Savior outposts. The all-out war for freedom quickly turns bloody, and during one of the fierce clashes, Eric is seriously injured and dies.
April 17th, 2012
During an isolated patrol in the woods, Carl is bitten in the abdomen while trying to rescue Siddiq, who has been trapped and attacked by a group of walkers. Awaiting his certain end, the boy chooses to shoot himself to avoid his transformation. At the same time, Simon disobeys Negan’s direct orders and ruthlessly eliminates the entire Scavenger community inside the landfill, leaving only Jadis alive.
April 20th, 2012
After discovering the Scavengers’ massive mutiny and unauthorized massacre, Negan challenges Simon, killing him in a brutal hand-to-hand duel in front of the entire Sanctuary community to reestablish his absolute authority.
April 21st, 2012
The two warring factions come to a final showdown on the battlefield, where the enemy army is decimated by faulty ammunition prepared by Eugene. Left defenseless, Negan finally succumbs to Rick after a tense hand-to-hand fight; Rick, however, surprisingly decides to spare his life and take him prisoner, unleashing the uncontrollable rage and deep anger of Maggie and Daryl, who absolutely cannot accept this unexpected moral decision.
April 22nd, 2012
Following the end of hostilities and the collapse of the Savior empire, a troubled Morgan feels the need to distance himself from the group. He decides to live in complete solitude within the old, now abandoned Scavengers settlement, seeking a way to regain his mental sanity.
June 11th, 2012 (happens off stage)
After a period of complete isolation in the landfill, Morgan decides to leave Virginia. He sets out alone on a long journey west, marking his official passage into the universe of the spin-off Fear the Walking Dead.
September 21st, 2012 (happens off stage)
Several months after Negan’s fall, Maggie carries her pregnancy to term and gives birth to Glenn’s son, deciding to name him Hershel in honor and memory of her late father.
