Timeline S2 – SPOILER ALERT

The gore becomes more intense, the fear gets unbearable, despair is invasive among the characters in this second season of The Walking Dead.
We discover one of the most iconic places in the entire saga, Hershel’s farm.
Warm, welcoming, familiar but at the same time terrifying, dark and dangerous… as its barn.
We get to know better today beloved characters like Daryl and Carol, among the longest-lived ones in the series, while Shane shows the darker side of him.
Below is a summary of the most incisive events in the timeline of the Second Season of TWD.

October 9th, 2010
As the group finds themselves stuck in a massive traffic jam on Interstate 85, the sudden arrival of a massive herd of walkers forces everyone to hide under vehicles for safety. Little Sophia is spotted by two undead and flees in terror into the surrounding fields, where she is bitten and dies. Later, once transformed, the little girl is captured by Hershel and secretly locked inside the barn on his property along with other infected people.
Once turned, she will be taken by Hershel and locked up with other zombies in the barn.
October 10th, 2010
During the frantic search for Sophia in the woods, Carl is struck and seriously wounded by a stray rifle shot accidentally fired by Otis. Desperately seeking medical help to save the child’s life, Rick and the rest of the group find shelter, protection, and emergency medical care at the Greene family’s isolated farmhouse.
October 11th, 2010
As the emotional tension mounts due to the forced stay on the farm and Sophia’s uncertain fate, Lori makes a shocking discovery that will change the family balance. Examining a secretly recovered pregnancy test, she realizes with deep anguish that she has become pregnant in a world now completely devastated by the apocalypse.
October 12th, 2010
In an attempt to find some privacy with Maggie, Glenn explores the property and makes a chilling discovery that threatens the safety of the survivors. He discovers that the Greenes’ large barn is completely filled with locked-up walkers, kept alive by the family who still considers them sick people in need of treatment.
October 14th, 2010
The barn’s secret finally collapses, and the situation degenerates into an open clash between Hershel’s idealistic vision and Shane’s raw, pragmatic determination. All the walkers locked inside the facility are forcibly freed and systematically shot by the survivors; to the entire group’s immense grief, even little Sophia, transformed, is the last to emerge from the barn and is finally put down by Rick.
October 24th, 2010
The group’s internal stability suffers a severe psychological blow during a nighttime patrol of the fields surrounding the farm. Dale is suddenly surprised and violently attacked by a walker trapped in the mud, suffering such severe and incurable abdominal injuries that Daryl is forced to put it down to end its excruciating suffering.
October 25th, 2010
The rivalry between Rick and Shane comes to a dramatic showdown on the farm, where Rick is forced to kill his friend in self-defense. Shortly afterward, Shane reanimates as a walker and is finally killed by little Carl. The sound of the gunshot, however, attracts a massive herd of infected that invades and destroys the entire property, forcing the group to flee immediately. Andrea, separated from the others, is rescued by a mysterious hooded woman.
