Timeline S1 – SPOILER ALERT


Set in the extraordinary metropolitan landscape of Los Angeles at the beginning of the pandemic outbreak, the first season of Fear The Walking Dead shows us the naivety and unawareness of the world absolutely unprepared for the unimaginable near future.
Very high tension and pure horror are the basic ingredients of this debut capable of laying the foundations for a series that will fearlessly take its place alongside the mother one, without scare of comparisons or similitude.
Below is a timeline of the main events portrayed in the First Season of FTWD.

August 3rd, 2010
Nick, a nineteen-year-old drug addict from Los Angeles, wakes up in a dazed state inside a deconsecrated church used as a shelter. Exploring the abandoned building, he discovers to his horror that his girlfriend, Gloria, has transformed into a monstrous being, intent on devouring a man’s corpse. Fleeing in panic, the young man is hit by a car and hospitalized. His mother, Madison, and sister, Alicia, rush to the scene, along with Madison’s partner, Travis.
August 4th, 2010
While Nick manages to escape the hospital and disappear, Madison returns to work as a guidance counselor at the high school, where she confronts Tobias, a student who attempts to smuggle a knife in for defense, fearful of leaked news of an impending epidemic.
August 5th, 2010
Madison and Travis track down Nick and witness his drug dealer Calvin undergo a terrifying transformation, discovering that the dead are coming back to life. Meanwhile, Alicia visits her boyfriend Matt’s house, finding him dying from a bite. She is saved by the timely intervention of her mother and Travis, who remove her before he revives. During a violent protest repressed by the police, Travis, who in the meantime has recovered his ex-wife Liza and their son Chris, are forced to flee for their lives and find temporary shelter inside Daniel’s barbershop, where his wife Griselda and daughter Ofelia are also staying.
August 6th, 2010
Madison returns to the now-deserted high school to retrieve emergency medication to manage Nick’s severe withdrawal symptoms. Inside the school, she is attacked by Principal Artie, now a walker, but manages to kill him in front of Tobias’s terrified eyes. Meanwhile, Alicia, barricaded in her house to protect her brother, helplessly witnesses the first bloody attacks by the undead against their neighbors.
August 7th, 2010
The collapse of civil infrastructure and basic services rapidly accelerates throughout California. Power failures begin to systematically fail in various urban neighborhoods, major highways are blocked by runaway vehicles, and social unrest escalates into uncontrolled looting. Travis, his family, and the Salazars manage to escape the inner-city hell and reach Madison, Alicia, and Nick’s home in El Sereno.
August 9th, 2010
The United States government attempts a desperate military response to contain the biological contagion. The National Guard intervenes massively across the country, establishing fenced-off safe zones under strict military surveillance; outside this protected perimeter, soldiers begin summarily executing infected or suspect civilians. The Clark family’s home is included in the perimeter.
August 18th, 2010
Deemed unstable or in need of urgent medical attention, Nick and Griselda are forcibly removed by the military and transferred to a field hospital; Madison is plunged into despair over her son’s capture, while Liza decides to volunteer to nurse the patients, leaving Chris under Madison’s protection. Meanwhile, at the hospital, Nick meets Victor.
August 19th, 2010
Following complications from her foot amputation, Griselda dies of severe septic shock; to prevent her imminent coming back, she is shot in the head with a captive bolt pistol before she can attack the personnel. Meanwhile, at El Sereno, Madison, thanks to Daniel, discovers the army’s secret plans to evacuate the outpost, abandoning the civilians to their fate.
August 20th, 2010
As the military activates Operation Cobalt, destroying Los Angeles with airstrikes, Madison, Travis, and Daniel lead a military expedition to rescue Nick and the other prisoners. Reunited with Victor’s help, the entire group of survivors gathers at his luxurious villa; Liza realizes she’s been bitten and asks Travis to kill her. From there, the protagonists decide to abandon land and escape to the open sea aboard the yacht Abigail.
